Water damage is one of the more devastating things that can happen to your business, short of a fire. Water losses can often close your office which in turn can mean lost revenue and productivity time.

Unfortunately, while there’s not much you can do about storm related water damage, it’s easy to curb any unexpected damage to your business by doing regular inspections of your commercial space. Below are some places to check for water damage on a routine basis.

   Roofing

                Rain seeping in through damaged roofs can go unseen and often cause water damage that goes left unnoticed for months and in turn causes mold growth that can cause health problems to you and your staff. Have a roof routinely inspected by a professional to prevent leaks, especially before our rainy spring season.

2. Pipes

                Your pipes can cause a ton of headaches. If you’ve got a burst pipe it can cause hundreds to thousands of gallons of water to flood your office space. If you have a slow leak, it could cause mold. It’s a good idea to have a plumber come out and inspect your pipes.

3. Sprinkler System

                Did you know that your sprinkler system can leak? It can! We’ve had a few jobs where a sprinkler had made a lot of damage in commercial buildings. Do regular checks to make sure your system isn’t faulty or broken. It can also save lives during a fire.
